UFC Fight Night 107 results: Jimi Manuwa makes quick work of Corey Anderson with devastating first-round knockout

MMA: UFC 204-Saint Preux vs Manuwa Per Haljestam-USA TODAY Sports

In the main event of UFC Fight Night 107, light heavyweights Jimi “Posterboy” Manuwa and Corey “Overtime” Anderson went at it inside O2 Arena in London, England. With Manuwa and Anderson ranked No. 5 and No. 6 in the 205-pound division, respectively, this would seem to be a fight with potential title implications. That’s not quite true in the light heavyweight division, but this was still a high-profile fight with the winner likely the recipient of big matchups down the line.

They touched gloves. Manuwa stood in the center of the cage while Anderson feinted, circling on the outside. Anderson ducked for a single-leg but Manuwa stepped away. Manuwa landed a hook slash uppercut. Manuwa threw a high kick, partially blocked. Anderson feinted, then threw an uppercut. He shot more seriously, threw punches on the break, and Manuwa just avoided the flurry. Out of nowhere, Manuwa hit a gorgeous left hook as Anderson circled away, and never even had to follow up. Anderson floated face-first into the canvas like a sheet of paper, and the referee had to step in. Walk-off knockout for the Posterboy!

Jimi Manuwa shouted at the crowd. “One shot, one kill.” He called out the winner of Daniel Cormier vs. Rumble Johnson II, but then switched tacks. “David Haye, let’s do this!” He clarified that he wants a boxing match with David Haye. The Conor McGregor effect has some strange outcomes. Regardless, great win for hometown hero Jimi Manuwa.

Official result: Jimi Manuwa def. Corey Anderson by KO at 3:05 of Round 1
