Brad Pickett’s bon voyage from mixed martial arts (MMA) did not go quite as planned earlier today (Sat., Mar. 18, 2017) at UFC Fight Night 107 airing exclusively on Fight Pass from inside The O2 Arena in London, England, when the 38-year-old bantamweight ran into trouble opposite late-notice replacement Marlon Vera. After two rounds of dominance by Pickett, which featured his classic forward uppercut and countless takedowns, Vera launched a monstrous head kick out of nowhere that put “One Punch” on his back. From there, Vera landed a few insurance shots before the referee jumped in for the third-round TKO stoppage.

With this win, Vera improves to 3-2 inside of the Octagon. This was a great showing for the 24-year-old as he capitalized on a big opportunity to shock a proven veteran on enemy territory. While he continues to grow in 2017, Vera has the chance to climb the 135-pound ladder in fashion.
