UFC President Dana White checking out ‘little badass’ Mackenzie Dern

Bianca Iuliano-Garman, MMA Fighting

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) President Dana White would undoubtedly love to create another Ronda Rousey, especially considering what the former women’s bantamweight champion was able to do for his bottom line.

Is that a role to be filled by Mackenzie Dern ... only bigger?

“We’ve been checking her out, yeah,” White told TMZ Sports. “She’s a little badass. You never know how good somebody’s gonna be until they get in there and start fighting the best in the world. Obviously she has a lot of potential. Will she be another Ronda? I don’t know.”

Hopefully he means the Ronda of 2013 and not the Ronda of 2017.

Dern, still just 23 years old, transitioned to mixed martial arts (MMA) after a stellar career on the grappling circuit, one that included gold at Abu Dhabi Combat Club (ADCC) in 2015.

The budding strawweight is a perfect 3-0 under the Legacy Fighting Championship (LFC) banner and could find herself competing in the UFC 115-pound division after another couple of fights.
