UFC 211: Joanna Jedrzejczyk targets Michelle Waterson, suggests Rose Namajunas has head problems

MMA: UFC 205-Jedrzejczyk vs Kowalkiewicz Adam Hunger-USA TODAY Sports

Joanna Jedrzejczyk is booked to face Jessica Andrade in the co-main event of UFC 211 — which is set to go down on May 13 inside American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas — but she’s already looking ahead toward her next title defense.

During a recent interview on The MMA Hour, Joanna discussed the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) strawweight landscape and while she acknowledges Andrade’s toughness and skill level, she is more than confident she’ll rack up her fifth straight title defense in “Big D.”

And since the promotion has been heavily promoting Michelle Waterson since she took out Paige Vanzant at UFC on FOX 22 last December, Joanna is looking forward to facing “Karate Hottie” once she takes care of her business against Andrade.

“Yes I am impressed with her. Let’s see. She has a good fight with Rose coming up, so we will see. I think she might be my next challenger after I beat Jessica. I think so. You know what, I met Rose and I have so much respect to this girl, I think she is one of the most talented strawweights in UFC, but she needs more experience and I think there is something wrong with her head. I met her in Denver, we shake hands, spoke with each other, then a few days after I heard the she was saying, ‘Oh, I want to beat Joanna.’ So I am like, ‘Shutup, you had your chance to beat Karolina and Carla Esparza, but you lost.’ Come on, work hard, get your ass to the gym, put on better fights and you will get your title shot. But be honest, if you don’t like me don’t shake my hand and don’t talk to me. Don’t talk behind my back. I’m a strict person, this what makes me mad. But, I think Waterson will win against Rose.”

Of course, Waterson and Namajunas are set to throw down at UFC on FOX 24 on April 15, 2017 inside the Sprint Center in Kansas City, Missouri (details here). The winner will more than likely be awarded the next title fight at 115 pounds.

And if the cards fall in the right place for Joanna, “Karate Hottie” will prove victorious setting up a potential striking battle against her, assuming she can get through Andrade this May.
