Bellator 177: "Dantas vs. Caldwell" is set to go down inside Budapest Sports Arena in Budapest, Hungary, on April 14, 2017. Similar to Bellator 176, which takes place six days earlier in Italy, the event will be hybrid show that features Bellator Kickboxing in addition to its traditional mixed martial arts (MMA) fare.
Bellator 177's MMA portion will air on Spike TV at 9 p.m. ET on fight night, while the kickboxing matches will air immediately after at 11 p.m. ET.
The main event of Bellator 177 will feature Bantamweight world champion Eduardo Dantas (19-4), who will return from a successful rematch with Joe Warren in Dec. 2016, taking on Darrion Caldwell (10-1), who also won a rematch that same weekend to earn this title shot.
Only one other MMA match has been announced at this early date -- Adam "The Kid" Borics (5-0) vs. Anthony "Pretty Boy" Taylor (1-2) at Featherweight. You may remember Taylor best for his match with James Gallagher in Dublin (more details here). Meanwhile, the Bellator Kickboxing portion of the proceedings will also feature a title bout as Karim Ghajji (97-13-1) attempts to take back his Welterweight title from Zoltan Laszak (11-2) in a return to the same city he lost it in Sept. 2016.
