Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) strawweight sensation Paige VanZant (7-3) isn’t going to let a little thing like a submission loss to Michelle Waterson (see it) derail her plans to become the next 115-pound champion.
Besides, iron sharpens iron.
With that in mind, “12 Gauge” recently fired off a few rounds with Invicta FC featherweight titleholder Cristiane Justino, who has some time on her hands after running afoul of United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA).
More on that fiasco here.
VanZant — who skipped The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 20 after failing to meet the minimum age requirement — jumped out to a 3-0 start under the UFC banner with two finishes.
Since then, the former star with the dancer is just 1-2 and has been finished in both losses by way of submission. How much training with “Cyborg” will help the young upstart remains to be seen, but there are certainly worse options currently on the market.
