Bellator 172: "Thomson vs. Pitbull" went down inside SAP Center in San Jose, Calif. last Saturday night (Feb. 18, 2017). The headlining fight for that card saw San Jose's own Josh "The Punk" Thomson in a Lightweight scrap with the hard-hitting Patricky "Pitbull" Freire.

Medical suspensions from California State Athletic Commission (CSAC) for "Thomson vs. Pitbull" are in and following the main event (recap here) Thomson has been ordered to take the next 180 days off. "Punk" is joined by Brooke Mayo, James Terry, Cesar Gonzalez, Anthony Do and Abraham Vaesau in taking the largest amount of time to sit on the sidelines unless cleared by a doctor first.

Many fighters also received the seven-day mandatory minimum rest. Patricky Freire, Cheick Kongo, Anatoly Tokov, Mauricio Alonso, Nikko Jackson, Juan Cardenas, Luis Vargas, Bobby Escalanate, Jeremy Murphy, J.J. Okanaovich, Zach Andrews, Justin Tenedora, Roqui Reyes and Gaston Bolanos each earned that short suspension.

After that it gets more interesting. However, none more interesting than the "million-dollar" boo-boo that forced Matt Mitrione out of the original main event against Fedor Emelianenko just hours before showtime on Spike TV.

Nonetheless, check out the complete list of Bellator 172 injuries and medical suspensions:
