Undefeated Michael Page will step foot back inside of the cage opposite Derek Anderson at Bellator 179 on May 19 from inside SSE Wembley Arena in London, England, per a recent report by The Telegraph. Page was loosely linked to a barn burner matchup with Paul Daley for the same event, but will instead be given Anderson after "Semtex" scheduled a bout with former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) title challenger Rory MacDonald.
Page, 29, is coming off one of his most lackluster performances to date after narrowly defeating Fernando Gonzalez via split decision back at Bellator 165. With a perfect record in tact, "Venom" will encounter the biggest test of his young career when he meets Anderson in London. If MVP is able to come out victorious and mix in the pizzazz fight fans have grown to love, a title shot by the end 2017 would become highly likely.
Anderson, 26, is coming off a loss to Derek Campos as Bellator 170, but remains one of the more dangerous welterweights on the roster. He has previously beaten the likes of Saad Awad and Patricky Freire after starting his professional career 9-0. Anderson has never faced a fighter quite like Page, but the same can be said the other way around.
Bellator 179 will be headlined by the aforementioned Daley vs. MacDonald welterweight scrap.
