With UFC 208 now in the rear view we can start looking forward to UFC 209 in Las Vegas, Nevada. As if the big rematch fight between welterweight champ Tyron Woodley and karate master Stephen "Wonderboy" Thompson wasn't reason enough to tune in, the card also features a much anticipated interim lightweight title fight between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson.
We don't even care about the interim belt. That fight is going to be wild. Ferguson is riding a 9 fight win streak and Khabib has never lost once in his 24 fights. There's a good amount of heat between the two fighters as well, with Ferguson calling Khabib a stalker for popping up in his Twitter notifications seconds after he posts anything. Khabib responded by threatening to break Ferguson's arm, so there's no love lost there.
Ferguson addressed the threat in a recent interview with FightHubTV.
"This dude says he wants to break my arm," he said with an angry look on his face. "I'm gonna tell you like I told other people. I like to hold my kid, I have a newborn. I broke my arm once, but I knocked that dude down with the same arm. I'll pimp smack that dude if he tries to break my arm. Go for it, dude. You try it, bro. You try to break it you're gonna have problems, I'm going to come at you with everything else, because I got elbows, I got knees, kicks ... I'm gonna hit you with everything I got."
Ferguson also feels like Khabib is looking past him, a mistake he plans on punishing the Russian for.
"Khabib, you better focus on this fight and not McGregor, buddy. Because you're looking too far and you're making the same mistake that Rafael Dos Anjos made."
"That dude's got no problems for me, so long as my conditioning and my feet are underneath me. I'm geared up from the feet up as far as conditioning wise, and this guy won't make me quit. I'm going to bring it all to him."
