Cristiane Justino will defend her Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Featherweight title against Holly Holm at the upcoming UFC 219 pay-per-view (PPV) event on Dec. 30, 2017 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
So how does one of the most fearsome strikers in all of mixed martial arts (MMA) prepare for a former world boxing champion, ex-UFC titleholder and one of her overall stiffest tests to date?
By bringing in the big guns.
Cyborg’s camp has enlisted the services of undefeated boxing champion Cecilia Braekus (32-0) -- who holds the WBA, WBC, IBF, WBO and IBO women’s Welterweight straps — ahead of the monumental championship bout.
Cecilia and Holm were in talks to duke it out inside the boxing ring before “The Preacher’s Daughter” ultimately opted to transition into MMA full time back in 2012. Still, Braekus will undoubtedly have plenty of wisdom to impart on Cyborg for her upcoming title fight.
Just last week, Cyborg sparred a few rounds against another former world boxing champion, Mia St. John.
Of course, Holly is doing just fine with her camp, as she still has one of the best gyms in all of MMA in her corner, as the Jackson-Winkeljohn crew will undoubtedly create a strategic gameplan in an attempt to hand Cyborg her first loss in 12 years.
After all, no one is unbeatable.
