Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic is set to defend his 265-pound title against No. 1 contender Francis Ngannou at an upcoming pay-per-view (PPV) event to be named, now that “The Predator” has slugged his way into the division’s top spot.

While Miocic, 35, has won his last five fights — all by knockout — he still opened as the betting underdog against Ngannou, 31, the winner of 10 straight with 10 finishes. That’s according to our fiscal friends at MMA Oddsbreaker.

Miocic (17-2) has competed just once over the past 15 months, due to some issues he was sorting out regarding his UFC contract. He was last seen planishing Junior dos Santos in their heavyweight rematch back in May.

As for Ngannou (11-1), he was able to unseat Alistair Overeem from the top of the heavyweight contender list by decapitating “Demolition Man” at the UFC 218 event last weekend in Detroit, Michigan. But does he have enough experience to capture the crown?

The bookies seem to think so...
