UFC unveils 25-year anniversary logo for 2018 campaign

In effort to commemorate a quarter century of business, Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) released a 25-year anniversary logo yesterday (Fri., Dec. 29, 2017) with the plan of utilizing the new symbol beginning 2018.

Check out the fresh 25-year anniversary trademark in various forms above courtesy of UFC.

UFC Fight Night 124: “Jeremy Stephens vs. Doo Ho Choi” on Jan. 14 will be the first event to utilize the new campaign. The commemorative logo will be incorporated into UFC broadcasts, across social and digital platforms, in-Octagon branding, UFC Fight Night collection, event posters, fan activations and merchandise throughout next year.

“What started as an idea in 1993 to put on the best fights with the best fighters in the world has changed the face of sports,” UFC president Dana White said. “I heard the word ‘no’ over and over and we faced a ton of challenges, but UFC bounced back each time, bigger and better, to build legends and superstars, while creating some of the most memorable events in the history of sports. The first 25 years have been amazing and we’re just getting started.”

From the official UFC press release:

The logo, designed in conjunction with Droga5, ‘Cannes Lions Independent Agency of the Year’, combines the silver anniversary with UFC’s world-famous Octagon®, the organization’s iconic symbol that debuted at UFC 1: The Beginning, which took place on Friday, November 12, 1993 in Denver, Colorado.

So what do you think, Maniacs? Did UFC hit a home run with its new logo for 2018?

Whether or not the promotion did enough to commemorate its own brand, it’s wild that we’re about to enter the 25th year of UFC. So many things have happened during that time, including a $4.2 billion sale to WME-IMG, so it’s exciting to see where the mixed martial arts (MMA) juggernaut ends up after next year.
