While most fight fans will tune into the action tonight (Sat., Dec. 30, 2017) at UFC 219 live on pay-per-view (PPV) from inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, to see Cris Cyborg put her 145-pound title on the line opposite Holly Holm, others will flock to the television sets to witness the return of former interim UFC welterweight king Carlos Condit.
Remember, Condit hinted at possible retirement last year after losing to Demian Maia at UFC on FOX 21 via submission. Prior to that, Condit dropped a razor-thin decision earlier in 2016 to then champion Robbie Lawler. As a result of his recent Octagon struggles, “Natural Born Killer” hasn’t tasted victory since finishing Thiago Alves via TKO back in May of 2015.
In order to prepare fight fans for the return of one of the most exciting fighters on the UFC roster, the promotion has compiled a brief video preview (shown above) of Condit’s road to redemption this weekend at UFC 219. Check it out as Condit prepares to square off with divisional contender Neil Magny in the opening bout of the PPV main card.
Only time will tell if Condit has enough left in the tank for another title run at this point in his career. The 33-year-old has been in some historic battles in the past so it’ll be interesting to see what he can bring back to the division entering 2018.
