Rising UFC heavyweight contender Francis Ngannou tried his luck at the top of the food chain last night (Sat., Dec. 2, 2017) at UFC 218 live on pay-per-view (PPV) from inside Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Mich., when he took on former Strikeforce champion Alistair Overeem. It ended exactly the way Ngannou envisioned.
Despite Overeem’s efforts to tie the action up early, Ngannou broke free and immediately found a home for a devastating left hook. Overeem was instantly knocked out cold and fell limp to the canvas. Ngannou landed a brutal follow-up shot before the fight was called via first-round knockout.

With this performance, Ngannou improves his UFC record to 6-0 and essentially locks down a title shot opposite current champion Stipe Miocic. The powerful “Predator” is one scary individual and quickly becoming one of the most exciting fighters in UFC.
