Khabib Nurmagomedov’s nutritionist gives us an update on his weight

With just a few days until the UFC 219 weigh-ins, Khabib’s nutritionist is sharing some reassuring news

The Cris Cyborg vs. Holly Holm main event at UFC 209 on December 30th is an awesome fight, but many fans are looking forward to Khabib Nurmagomedov's return against Edson Barbosa with just as much anticipation if not more. Khabib is one of the most promising lightweight fighters on the roster ... when he can hit 155 pounds.

The last time we saw him was over a year ago at UFC 205 when he destroyed Michael Johnson. UFC 209 was supposed to be his big coming out party against Tony Ferguson, but a botched weight cut landed him in the hospital and he spent several months after that recovering. Because of that, people are understandably interested in whether Khabib can hit 155 pounds on December 30th without issue, something his camp continues to contend will not be an issue.

The latest reassurance comes from nutritionist Tyler Minton:

"The UFC wants fighters no higher than 10% of their weight class on arrival," Minton wrote. "Two meals and a lot of water later, Khabib weighs in more than a pound UNDER. Sorry haters!"

That would put Khabib at 169 pounds, with 13 more pounds to go over this week. Of course, it's often those last pesky pounds that are the problem, but we don't want to sound like haters.

I am, in fact, one of those people more eager to see "The Eagle" fly at UFC 219 than I am the Cyborg vs. Holm featherweight title fight. Please don't confuse my focus on Nurmagomedov's weight as anything other than concern. Self-interested concern, perhaps, because I just want to see him compete, but definitely no hate.
