Video: UFC slugger Artem Lobov shipped to Russia to train Kremlin cops

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) featherweight slugger, Artem Lobov, doesn’t have a mixed martial arts (MMA) fight booked at the moment, so he’s free to pursue other endeavors while awaiting his next assignment.

That includes a trip back to Mother Russia where he was born, to help train some government agents in the distinguished art of ass kicking. The good news is, United States will probably ask Cub Swanson to come and train its own federal agents.

“It was an honor to get invited to Kremlin and share my MMA knowledge with government security agents,” Lobov, 31, wrote on Instagram.

Aptly nicknamed “The Russian Hammer,” the unranked Lobov is known for his reckless fighting style, in which he tries to knock out his opponents with every punch while simultaneously blocking incoming strikes with his face.

It’s not terribly successful evidenced by his 13-14-1 (1 NC) record, but as an American who grew up during the Cold War, I stand behind Lobov’s decision to teach our frenemies how to fight.
