Conor McGregor tweets ‘Pussy’ after Floyd Mayweather puts the brakes on UFC talk

A lot of Conor McGregor’s recent social media posts are a bit murky but there’s no doubt what he meant with this latest tweet.

Conor McGregor has been an international man of mystery on social media lately, posting stuff with little context and letting us try to figure out what the hell he means by it all.

For example, there's this:

they are a little hairy but they are spotless. Lick them

A post shared by Conor McGregor Official (@thenotoriousmma) on

"They are a little hairy but they are spotless," he wrote. "Lick them."

Now he's probably not suggesting we fans lick his fuzzy shoes. But what does he mean? Is he saying the UFC has to lick his shoes if they want him back, especially if they want him back to fight a box office dud like interim lightweight champ Tony Ferguson?

Maybe.

Or maybe it's something completely unrelated. The multi-millionaire fighter probably has all sorts of stupid stuff going on in his life these days, and maybe that post is specific to some personal interaction we have no insight on. Or maybe it's (as he'd call it) total bollocks that doesn't mean anything other than drunk Conor is drunk tweeting.

Then there's this more recent post, which seems easier to decode:

That came briefly after Floyd Mayweather backed away from earlier statements that he was considering a fight or three in the UFC. But maybe after realizing his image would never recover from the quick and brutal ass kickings he'd receive in the Octagon, Floyd abruptly changed his thoughts on the situation to 'Not gonna happen.'

Hence 'Pussy.'

That's where all this talk from Floyd about 'carrying' Conor through their boxing fight is kinda whack. Conor McGregor had the balls to cross over and fight Floyd in his own sport. Maybe Mayweather could have beaten McGregor earlier ... but he didn't. That wasn't carrying, it was part of a sound gameplan to keep away from McGregor's power til the UFC champ tired out.

To turn around and pretend otherwise is pretty lame. It's revisionist history, and it's unfair to the guy who had the balls to risk his reputation and cross over to face the best. Now Mayweather is showing his character again, talking a big game about fighting in the UFC only to tuck tail and refuse. It's no wonder McGregor isn't impressed.
