The Bellator Heavyweight Grand Prix gets underway at The Forum in Inglewood, Calif. on Jan. 20, 2018 with a Chael Sonnen vs. Quinton “Rampage” Jackson match at Bellator 192. It’s the opening bracket of an eight man tournament that will ultimately crown a new Heavyweight champion.
According to the books at Bovada, neither of these two men are favorites to wear the crown. In fact, Jackson is the longest dog at +1600. In descending order he’s followed by Chael Sonnen at +1400, Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal at +1100, Roy Nelson and Fedor Emelianenko both at +600, Frank Mir at +400, Ryan Bader at +280 and Matt “Meathead” Mitrione at +225.
It’s worth noting that they have an open line for “any alternate fighter” at +600 as well, meaning they — like many other people — expect someone to be knocked out of the tournament due to injury. As for the Jackson vs. Sonnen fight itself, Jackson opens at -155 with Sonnen +125.
