Derrick Lewis will make his return to the Octagon opposite rising contender Marcin Tybura at UFC Fight Night 126 on Feb. 18 live on FOX Sports 1 from inside Frank Erwin Center in Austin, Texas, per a recent report by MMAjunkie.
UFC has yet to officially announce the heavyweight pairing.
Lewis, 32, is coming off a knockout loss to Mark Hunt back at UFC Fight Night 110. Following a brief retirement, “Black Beast” was expected to meet former UFC heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum at UFC 216 this past October before pulling out with a back injury. With a 5-1 divisional record since the start of 2016, Lewis is one victory away from putting himself back in title contention.
Tybura, 32, is coming off a loss to Werdum last month at UFC Fight Night 121. Despite tasting defeat, the rising Polish contender showed a lot of promise opposite Werdum and will look to continue his divisional ascension against one of the toughest knockout artists around in Lewis. Tybura’s matchup with “Black Beast” will mark his fourth bout since March of this year.
UFC Fight Night 126 currently has no main event in place.
