Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) welterweight champion Tyron Woodley is often at loggerheads with the world’s largest mixed martial arts (MMA) organization, simply because “The Chosen One” doesn’t kowtow to promotion president Dana White.
And since White is an “insecure scumbag” who wants each and every one of his fighters to “cater to his every whim,” according to former Bellator and ONE Championship welterweight champion Ben Askren, Woodley lost career-high paydays like this.
From his conversation with Submission Radio:
“Dana White’s a scumbag. I don’t take anything he says with any value because he’s very, very insecure and he abhors anyone who won’t cater to his every whim. I think it’s pretty on par for the course and I think it goes to further the statement that I made earlier that Dana White really can’t stand anyone who won’t cater to his every whim. Tyron’s a very strong, very smart individual and he doesn’t cave in every time Dana puts a little bit of pressure on him, and so I think that’s why there’s definitely some issues in their working relationship at times.”
White, as you might expect, thinks Askren is a gimmick-stealing moron.
Woodley opted for shoulder surgery to close out his 2017 fight campaign, a decision that doesn’t make sense to division No. 1 contender Rafael dos Anjos, who is expected to collide with the “Chosen One” in 2018 after disposing of Robbie Lawler.
As for Askren, who recently retired from combat sports with a perfect record of 18-0 (1 NC), he never got the chance to join his friend and teammate (Woodley) in UFC because he couldn’t get any respect from White.
Maybe he was too busy running those errands?
