Rafael dos Anjos picked up a huge win last night (Sat., Dec. 16, 2017) in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada by taking out Robbie Lawler in the main event of UFC on FOX 26 inside Bell MTS Place with a dominant, fiver-round performance.

It was masterful.

The win was Rafael’s third straight since deciding to pack on the pounds and jump up to 170-pounds. With the division getting more and more stacked by the day, “RDA” reminded everyone that he’s still at the top of his game. Now, he will more than likely take a huge leap on the official UFC rankings.

And as you’ve probably figured out by now, it means he will get his-much-desired shot at the Welterweight strap against Tyron Woodley sometime in 2018. When and were remains to be seen, as “The Chosen One” recently went under the knife.

Nevertheless, the win for dos Anjos was huge, as he schooled the former division champion, looking like the Rafael of old, the one that once ruled the Lightweight division. And “RDA” made it look easy, at one point teeing off on “Ruthless” for at least 25 straight second up against the cage.

When he wasn’t doing that, he was mauling up his lead leg with kicks. Now, “RDA” will get the chance to become the promotion’s next multi-division champion in what should be an exciting title fight against a champion that still can’t seem to get the respect he deserves, or wants.

Still, sitting in the shadows is Colby Covington, who likely won’t take the news well if and when the title fight is announced. Should Tyron be on the shelf for an extended period of time, I wouldn’t mind seeing Rafael and Colby get it on in the interim.

In fact, “Chaos” wasted no time in calling him out.
