A big shift in the UFC’s featherweight division unfolded earlier tonight (Sat., Dec. 16, 2017) at UFC on FOX 26 from inside Bell MTS Place in Winnipeg, Canada, when Josh Emmett stormed into the Octagon and dispatched former title contender Ricardo Lamas with one punch.
Despite stepping up on short notice to fill in for Jose Aldo, Emmett looked calm and collected against the No. 3 ranked Lamas. “The Bully” certainly had his moments in the early going, but Emmett connected on a blistering left hook follow-up at the end of the first round that stiffened Lamas on arrival.

With this performance, Emmett essentially launches himself into the featherweight top 10 and locks down one of the sickest knockout finishes of 2017. Lamas was nearing a title shot heading into next year so this win should land Emmett a high-profile bout his next time out.
