Mark Hunt returns to action against Curtis Blaydes at UFC 221 in February

The heavy hitting Australian fighter has been cleared to fight after CTE concerns took him off a card in November.

Mark Hunt is back and once again anchoring a UFC event in Sydney.

Hunt will take on up and coming heavyweight Curtis Blaydes at UFC 221 in Perth, Australia on February 10th. That card is being headlined by newly minted undisputed middleweight champ Robert Whittaker vs. Luke Rockhold. The fight was confirmed by Aussie publication The Daily Telegraph.

It's been an interesting couple of months for Mark Hunt. He was originally set to headline the UFC Sydney card in November, but a worrisome article he co-authored seemed to claim he was suffering from CTE, and the UFC yanked him for precautionary reasons. That led to Hunt threatening another lawsuit and then calming down enough to travel to Las Vegas and get thoroughly tested by the promotion.

We'd heard from Hunt that he'd passed all the medical testing, but this booking seems like the confirmation that all is well.

Hunt will be looking to build on a TKO victory over Derrick Lewis from back in June, while Blaydes is hoping to bump his four fight win streak up to five and add the first major scalp to his resume.
