If at first you don’t succeed, bank $500,000 and try again.
Former WWE pro wrestler Phil Brooks, 39, will be in attendance at the upcoming UFC 218 pay-per-view (PPV) event, which takes place this Saturday night (Dec. 2, 2017) inside Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan.
Don’t worry, he’s not fighting (yet).
Instead, the artist known as “CM Punk” will have a sit-down with promotion president Dana White to discuss the possibility of an Octagon return in 2018. That could be a tough sell if we’re to believe what was said here.
"CM Punk is coming to Detroit and wants to talk to me," White said at Tuesday’s media scrum (via Las Vegas Review-Journal). "I love the guy. We'll see what he's doing."
Punk (0-1) made his mixed martial arts (MMA) debut nearly two years after inking with the world’s preeminent combat sports promotion in late 2014. Not that his protracted training period did him any good at UFC 203, where he was promptly smashed by fellow (but much younger) upstart Mickey Gall.
Is it too late to coax this welterweight out of retirement?
