Eye: Paige VanZant called Dana White and threw a ‘bitch fit’ to duck ‘Evil’ fight

When Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) created a women’s flyweight division, top strawweight attractions Paige VanZant and Jessica Eye were promptly paired off to get the ball rolling at 125 pounds.

Then “12 Gauge” got injured and their fight was postponed.

Or so Eye thought. But in the weeks that followed, VanZant appeared to distance herself from the “Evil” showdown and started entertaining other offers, despite having a contract to move the canceled bout to St. Louis.

So what happened?

“Paige called Dana and asked to get out of the fight,” Eye told The MMA Hour. “They were not gonna let her out of this fight and she — whatever bitch fit she threw, I signed that contract, I signed that one October 18 I think… I got the contract signed and returned it that day for that one.”

“Bitch Fit” is not to be confused with “Bitch Face.”

VanZant confirmed a booking for the Jan. 14 show on FOX Sports 1, but would not corroborate recent reports that she’s fighting flyweight upstart Jessica-Rose Clark, despite this post on Twitter.

Eye is expected to face Kalindra Faria.

“I’m not here saying that maybe two different things weren’t being said,” Eye continued. “But we all know that the UFC does not send contracts to people unless both parties agreed upon wanting the fight and said yes to everything.”

As of now, it appears both Eye and VanZant will be competing in St. Louis ... just not against one another, for reasons not quite understood.

Any guesses?
