Knockout! Watch Shamil Abdurakhimov demolish Chase Sherman in 84 seconds - UFC Shanghai highlights

Two powerful heavyweights collided earlier today (Sat., Nov. 25, 2017) at UFC Fight Night 122 live on Fight Pass from inside Mercedes Benz Arena in Shanghai, China, as Russian veteran Shamil Abdurakhimov scored a huge 84-second knockout win over outspoken contender Chase Sherman.

Sherman came into the fight on a two-fight win streak, but failed to produce much of anything during his preliminary bout opposite “Abrek.” After catching “Vanilla Gorilla” flush with a left hook, Abdurakhimov pieced together a straight right hand and another short left hook that planted Sherman on the canvas. Sherman was clearly out of sorts, which prompted referee Steve Perceval to quickly jump in for the first-round stoppage.

With this performance, Abdurakhimov gets back into the heavyweight win column after getting stopped by knockout artist Derrick Lewis his last time out. While this is the Russian’s lone finish under UFC control, more performances like this one could shoot Abdurakhimov up the proverbial ladder in a vastly depleted weight class.
