Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) light heavyweight champion, Chuck Liddell, has been teasing a return to mixed martial arts (MMA) over the past year, after hooking up with the folks at Bellator MMA.
And while “The Iceman” made a pretty penny back in his heyday, he wasn’t generating the kind of cash some of today’s top stars are hauling in. That includes the now-wealthy welterweight lightweight Nate Diaz, who wants $15 million to fight Tyron Woodley.
“For $15 million, I’ll get in there and fight them both” Liddell told MMA Tonight (via MMA Fighting). “I’m healthy. It would probably take more than [a month] to set it up, but I’m not sure yet. We’ll see. I mean, it depends on what gets offered. If someone offers me something crazy, I could fight tomorrow, but it just depends.”
Speaking of crazy, Liddell insists he was never offered a 205-pound showdown against former UFC title contender Chael Sonnen, though he wouldn’t rule out a potential “American Gangster” fight after this wraps up.
Liddell, 47, has not competed since his 2010 knockout loss to Rich Franklin.
