Color me presumptive, but I get the sneaking suspicion that Jim Wallhead is lit.
Maybe it has something to do with that epic Facebook rant from the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) welterweight, who was flagged by United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) after flunking an out-of-competition drug test back on Oct. 7.
The substance in question is Ostarine, classified as a selective androgen receptor module (SARM), designed to retain and often improve lean muscle mass. USADA has a full page dedicated to the “illegal” drug here.
Wallhead reacts:
“If you really think I’m stupid enough to cheat or take a banned substance then you don’t [know] me, I haven’t took anything at all! Why on earth would I get to the UFC which has took me 12 years of hard work and then take something.... lol it’s fucking ridiculous!! I’m fucking fuming, devo & shocked all in one, here is my suggestion to everyone on USADA don’t even drink protein shakes because your taking a risk... I don’t know what else to say on this I hope it gets resolved, I believe I have a good name and a good reputation, personally I think it’s mad and I don’t understand it at all. For those that believe me thank you and those that don’t quite clearly fuck you.”
Read his full statement here.
Not every fighter who gets popped by USADA is found guilty of cheating (proof) and there have been documented cases (like this one) of athletes getting duped by tainted supplements.
In fact, one UFC welterweight is fighting back with this recent lawsuit.
Wallhead is entitled to due process and will no doubt have his B-sample tested in the coming weeks. Until then, he’s going to remain provisionally suspended while USADA sorts through his case.
Stay tuned.
