Before Michael Bisping makes a quick turnaround to face Kelvin Gastelum in the main event of UFC Fight Night 122 on Nov. 25, 2017 in Shanghai, China — due to this — lets take a look back at one of “The Count’s” most dominant wins.
Back in 2014, Bisping found himself face-to-face to striking machine Cung Le in what was his first trip to China, fighting in Macua SAR at UFC Fight Night 48.
In what was mostly a standup affair, “The Count” — to mostly everyone’s surprise — out-struck Lee on the feet, battering and bruising up Lee throughout, especially in the second round which left Cung a bloodied mess. Cung, though, blamed an inadvertent eye poke for the advantage.
Nevertheless, the damage was already done, and Bisping took full advantage of it by continuing to batter his foe. Despite trying to hang tough, Le simply couldn’t do anything to stop Bisping from putting it on him. And in the fourth round, Bisping delivered a ruthless striking attack that consisted of body shots and knees to the nose that took Cung out for the count.
It was an impressive win to say the least, and now Bisping will look to score another win in China when he faces a stiff test against Gastelum on just two weeks notice after suffering a submission loss to Georges St-Pierre at UFC 217, which cost him his UFC Middleweight strap.
