Yet another Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) competitor has landed in the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) doghouse, as heavyweight James Mulheron was notified of a potential violation earlier today (Sat., Nov. 18, 2017) tracing back to an out-of-competition sample collected on Nov. 10.
As a result, Mulheron has been pulled from his upcoming tilt with French prospect Cyril Asker at UFC Fight Night 122 on Nov. 25 from Shanghai, China. The promotion is currently looking for a replacement opponent for Asker.
Mulheron, who lost his UFC debut against Justin Willis this past July in Scotland, will have his just chance to prove his innocence, but this isn’t a good look for the English knockout artist. His bout opposite Asker would have marked the third time Mulheron fought in 2017.
UFC Fight Night 122, which will be headlined by a middleweight tilt between former UFC champion Michael Bisping and rising contender Kelvin Gastelum, will now proceed with 11 bouts.
