It was a huge Octagon debut earlier tonight (Sat., Nov. 18, 2017) at UFC Fight Night 121 live on FOX Sports 1 from inside Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney, Australia, for 24-year-old heavyweight prospect Tai Tuivasa, as the Australian native brutally stopped a game Rashad Coulter via first-round knockout.
While this was just Coulter’s second UFC appearance, he proved to be a pretty good test for the young Tuivasa. It took longer than expected, but “Bam Bam” really started to tag Coulter when he opened up and attacked his legs and body. After Coulter was knocked down by a leg kick, Tuivasa jumped in for a flying knee that immediately detached Coulter from reality.

With this performance, Tuivasa enters the UFC’s heavyweight division in fashion. Having trained alongside mixed martial arts (MMA) veteran Mark Hunt for the past few years, “Bam Bam” is already showing signs of being a brutal knockout artist at the highest level. Another finish like this could launch him into the top 15, especially considering the heavyweight class is desperate for new blood.
