The finishes kept piling in earlier tonight (Sat., Nov. 18, 2017) at UFC Fight Night 121 live on FOX Sports 1 from inside Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney, Australia, as flyweight contender Ryan Benoit put a vicious end to rising prospect Ashkan Mokhtarian.
It was not easy for Benoit. The 28-year-old ate some big shots in this fight, including a nasty left hand by Mokhtarian that dropped Benoit early into the first. Benoit remained confident in his hands, but more importantly he started to disguise his kicks. In the third round, “Baby Face”found his opening to launch a powerful right kick into Mokhtarian’s head and earn the sensational knockout finish.

With this performance, Benoit gets back into the win column after dropping a split decision to contender Brandon Moreno last December. Benoit looked calm and collected tonight against a dangerous fighter who is known to finish. His stock will be on the rise entering 2018, especially as the contender pool at 125 pounds continues to dry up.
