Tyron Woodley vs Nate Diaz odds: ‘Chosen One’ heavy favorite for potential UFC 219 title fight

Esther Lin/MMA Fighting

Rumors sparked on Tuesday night about a potential Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Welterweight title fight between current division champion Tyron Woodley and random challenger Nate Diaz, which could headline UFC 219 on Dec. 30, 2017 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

And while it’s still not past the rumor stage, our friends over at Bovada have already set the odds for the blockbuster bout. And to no one’s surprise, “T-Wood” opened up as a huge favorite over the Stockton slugger.

Tyron Woodley vs Nate Diaz

Tyron Woodley -260 (5/13)

Nate Diaz +200 (2/1)

Woodley was last seen defending his title against Demian Maia at UFC 214, while Nate hasn’t stepped foot inside the Octagon since losing to Conor McGregor over a year ago. For his part, Woodley is ready to rumble, while the Diaz camp briefly teased the beginning of training for a year-end bout, but quickly deleted the evidence.

McGregor was also touted as a potential headliner, but his bad Bellator MMA behavior (see it again here) ultimately ended any hopes of “Notorious” making his much-anticipated return at the event. Furthermore, Holly Holm couldn’t come to terms with UFC for a title fight against Cris Cyborg, which means the promotion is scrambling to find a worthy headlining bout for its final pay-per-view (PPV) event of 2017.

Even if it is bizarre.
