Because your kiss, your kiss, is on my list.

Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) middleweight champion Anderson Silva was flagged for a potential anti-doping violation following an out-of-competition drug test by United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA).

As a result, “The Spider” was provisionally suspended and pulled from his Kelvin Gastelum fight at the upcoming UFC Fight Night 122 combat sports event on Sat., Nov. 25, 2017 inside Mercedes-Benz Arena in Shanghai, China.

While the substance causing his drug test to come back positive has yet to be identified, the 41-year-old Brazilian felt it prudent to release a statement on his official Instagram account, where he failed to address the charges but did offer you a big fat kiss.

His words:

“Obviously, I think everything is part of a process of evolution, with each passing day, I can learn more about who I am. I’m here to thank all my fans, especially my coaches and all the contributors for this long journey. I can’t express my feelings and how sad I am, because we all invest love, passion and time in this camp, I don’t know exactly the plans of GOD for me, but anyway, I can only thank him and all of you, for the love and affection, nothing is more gratifying at this moment than having you by my side. I will not give up, much less stop doing what I love, not because of fame or money, it’s because I love to fight. So no matter what happens from now on, nothing changes, my plans are the same, nothing has changed. A big kiss for everyone and see you soon.”

Not that soon.

Silva has already served a previous drug test suspension and could be facing a lengthy time out from USADA, though it should be noted “The Spider” is entitled to due process and will likely present his case after a lengthy fact-finding mission.

A lot of that going around these days.

In the interim, former middleweight champion Michael Bisping has agreed to step in to fight Gastelum on short notice. To see who else is fighting at UFC Shanghai, which takes place later this month on UFC Fight Pass from China, click here.
