Lorenz Larkin vs Fernando Gonzalez to headline Bellator 193 in Temecula on Jan. 26

Bellator 193: “Larkin vs. Gonzalez” will hit Pechanga Resort & Casino in Temecula, Calif., on Jan. 26, 2018, an event that comes just six days after “Lima vs. MacDonald” at The Forum in Inglewood, California. And the winner of one main event could theoretically challenge the other.

After either Douglas Lima defends or Rory MacDonald acquires the Bellator’s Welterweight title, two more top contenders will meet in the cage. While Lorenz Larkin (18-7) has gotten off to a slow start, a win in the Bellator main event in spectacular fashion could move him right back into the title picture he’s been out of since Douglas Lima defeated him at Bellator 180.

Meanwhile, Fernando Gonzalez (27-14) has long been awaiting a world title opportunity. His only Bellator loss in his last eight fights was a controversial split decision against Michael Page. He, too, could vault into the title picture with a highlight-reel win over a former No. 1 contender. Curiously, though, this fight will happen at a Catchweight of 180 pounds.

At this early date no other fights have been announced for Bellator 193’s fight card.
