Amidst talks of a potential retirement, UFC welterweight veteran Matt Brown delivered one of his most memorable performances last night (Sat., Nov. 11, 2017) at UFC Fight Night 120 live on FOX Sports 1 from inside the Ted Constant Convocation Center in Norfolk, Virginia, when he knocked Diego Sanchez out cold with a vicious elbow in the first round.
Despite being the bigger and longer fighter, Brown struggled to land his shots early on against a pressurizing Sanchez. After Sanchez hurt “The Immortal” with a brutal leg kick to the liver, Brown landed one of the most devastating elbows you will ever see. Sanchez was caught behind the ear and instantly fell limp to the canvas.

With this performance, Brown captures his first UFC victory since submitting Tim Means back in 2015. Sanchez really isn’t a dynamic force at 170 pounds these days, but Brown made an example of “Nightmare” in a blistering fashion. For now, “Immortal” remains an active player in the welterweight division.
