It was an impressive Octagon debut for rising middleweight prospect Karl Roberson earlier tonight (Sat., Nov. 11, 2017) at UFC Fight Night 120 from inside the Ted Constant Convocation Center in Norfolk, Virginia, as the undefeated kickboxer showed off his slick ground game by submitting English knockout artist Darren Stewart.
While Stewart was the one who opened up the fight more energetic and explosive, Roberson took his time and picked his shots nicely. After catching “The Dentist” off guard with uppercuts inside, Roberson was able to take control of the 185-pound scrap. He whipped Stewart down to the canvas, moved into position, and sunk in a rear-naked choke to get the early stoppage.

With this performance, Roberson enters the UFC’s middleweight division in fashion. He made a name for himself a few months back with a 15-second knockout on Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series, but this stands out just as much. If the 27-year-old can continue to pile in finishes like this one, he’ll quickly move up the divisional ladder.
