Knockout! Watch Raphael Assuncao sleep Matthew Lopez with one punch at UFC Fight Night 120

Brazilian veteran Raphael Assuncao put it all together earlier tonight (Sat., Nov. 11, 2017) at UFC Fight Night 120 live on FOX Sports 1 from inside the Ted Constant Convocation Center in Norfolk, Virginia, when he battered prospect Matthew Lopez before capturing a third-round knockout finish.

Over the course of the first two rounds, Assuncao staved off Lopez’s best attacks on the feet, while turning the youngster’s lead leg into hamburger meat with vicious kicks. In Round 3, during a melee along the cage, Assuncao caught Lopez with a mean right hook that instantly turned the lights off. Lopez dropped to the canvas and Assuncao somehow managed to pull back on a follow-up hammer fist.

With this performance, Assuncao locks down his third-straight victory in a crowded 135-pound division. Considering his only loss since 2011 came against current UFC bantamweight champion T.J. Dillashaw, Assuncao is doing pretty good for himself these days. Another finish like this one will land him on the doorstep of title contention in 2018.
