Gokhan Saki vs. Khalil Rountree added to UFC 219 on December 30th

K-1 fighter Gokhan Saki will make a quick 3 month turnaround for his second bout in the UFC.

Gokhan Saki will fight again in 2017.

The K-1 star made his light heavyweight UFC debut just two weeks ago at UFC Fight Night: "Saint Preux vs. Okami", knocking out Henrique da Silva in an exciting match that showed off Saki's destructive striking power but also some rough edges. But whatever needs to be tuned will apparently be tuned on the go as Gokhan already has another fight booked for UFC 219 on December 30th in Las Vegas.

Saki will face fellow 205 pound fighter Khalil Rountree, a TUF 23 veteran on a two fight knockout streak. The fight was announced on Twitter by the UFC just hours ago.

At just over three months, this is a fast turnaround for Saki, who spent the past 13 months outside of the ring and cage as he transitioned to the UFC. The long layoff and switch from 3 minute kickboxing rounds to 5 minute MMA rounds tested Saki's cardio, and things got rough for him during the last two minutes of the first round against da Silva. That didn't stop Saki from catching da Silva on the chin and putting him down, though.

Afterwards, Saki declared he'd be champion by 2018. If he manages to keep this pace up, he just might be.
