Things didn’t go all too well for rising flyweight prospect Magomed Bibulatov earlier tonight (Sat., Oct. 7, 2017) at UFC 216 from inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, when he encountered former UFC title challenger John Moraga in the Fight Pass preliminary headliner.
In just under two minutes, Moraga was able to dictate spacing and control on the feet, catching the Russian prospect with a huge right hand. Bibulatov tried to recover, but Moraga quickly rushed in to land a decisive left hook that slumped Bibulatov and forced the referee stoppage.

With this win, Moraga captures his second-straight victory since losing three in a row dating back to 2015. The veteran is far removed from his failed title shot opposite UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson, but performances like this, against stout up-and-coming talent like Bibulatov, will quickly land Moraga back on the doorstep of a 125-pound title shot.
