Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) lightweight champion Conor McGregor is the biggest star in mixed martial arts (MMA), which has allowed him to retain his title while branching out to other sports.

That includes last August’s boxing match against Floyd Mayweather Jr. in Las Vegas, Nevada. While the result was a tenth-round technical knockout loss for “Notorious,” it likely raised his stock even further, making him a potential pro wrestling superstar in the process.

And WWE Chief Brand Officer Stephanie McMahon is ready to capitalize on that.

“I think Conor would be a perfect fit for WWE," McMahon said, speaking at a Leaders in Sports convention at Stamford Bridge (via International Business Times). "He certainly has the personality, the athletic ability, the appeal. He speaks his mind, he is very genuine and authentic and he has a hell of a Vince McMahon swagger."

Or they could do fake McGregor like they did with fake Diesel.

UFC fighters are no stranger to pro wrestling (sample here) and McGregor already has an existing feud with some of the top stars in WWE. But there is still a lot of work to be done in the lightweight division and “Notorious” remains under contract.

And the list of waiting contenders is growing by the minute.
