Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) returns to the hurt business TONIGHT (Sat., Oct. 7, 2017) with UFC 216: "Ferguson vs. Lee,” which pops off from inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

UFC 216 will be headlined by the lightweight interim title fight between top-ranked contenders Tony Ferguson and Kevin Lee, while flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson puts his 125-pound strap on the line against Ray Borg in the five-round pay-per-view (PPV) co-main event.

Round 1: Johnson firing inside low kicks to start the fight. Head kick blocked, right straight is not. One minute in. Borg with a right uppercut, eats a body kick. Another body kick and he drags Borg to his rear as Johnson bonks his head. Borg scrambles up. Another hard body kick by Johnson and Borg shoots. Johnson stuffs it and patiently waits for Borg to release his ankle. Borg keeps driving two minutes in. Johnson stuffs it again and again looks for the back. Borg surrenders half guard. Two minutes to go.

Hammerfists from Johnson, denies an attempt to stand. Hard elbow. Johnson pinning down Borg’s right arm as he targets the left. One minute to go. Johnson passes to side control and looks for the Kimura. Johnson nearly takes mount, Borg regains guard. I’m calling that 10-8 Johnson for sheer dominance.

Round 2: Borg hops in with a knee and shoots, tying up on the fence. Knees from Johnson. Johnson reverses, knees the thigh as Borg tries to cinch up a guillotine a minute in. Johnson breaks his grip. Borg shoots again and gets Johnson to his butt. Johnson stands, dragged back down. He scrambles up and Borg takes his back, only for Johnson to spin and take guard. Two minutes in.Johnson threatening the arm triangle, loses it as he works from half guard. Good punches from Johnson in a pseudo-crucifix. He looks for an arm and Borg gets to his knees. Two minutes to go.

Johnson keeping control. Nice knees to the body as Borg works his way up. Borg puts him on the fence, eats more knees. Johnson takes him down, moving to side control to avoid a guillotine attempt. Borg goes to his knees and Johnson grabs the front headlock before spinning towards the back. Knee to the body from Johnson on a seated Borg, whom he pops with shoulder strikes. 10-9 Johnson.

Round 3: Boy kick and and a hard right hand form Johnson. Borg catches a body kick and tries to take Johnson down. Johnson still defending with ease and scrambles into the front headlock. He takes side control a minute in. Johnson looking for the crucifix as he goes to work with short punches. Borg regains half guard and Johnson slams home hard knees to the body. Two minutes in. Elbows from Johnson. Borg tries to regain guard, does so after firing some missed upkicks. Elbow from Johnson. Two minutes to go.

Back to side control for Johnson, then the mount when Borg tries to bridge. Now he takes the back and goes to work with punches. Borg scrambles to his rear, Johnson takes side control. Great scramble and Johnson bangs the body before Borg tries a guillotine. 10-8 Johnson.

Round 4: Borg marches forward and shoots, slamming Johnson to the mat. Butterfly guard for Johnson. Borg goes to half guard, eats a knee when Johnson scrambles up. Johnson landing punches against the cage and Borg surrenders half guard a minute in. Punches and elbows by Johnson. Side control two minutes in. Borg gets to his feet, eats a hard knee to the head and one to the body. Another knee downstairs. Johnson moves to the rear waistlock and kicks Borg in the head. Two minutes to go.

Hard takedown by Johnson slams Borg’s head into the mat and puts Johnson in side control. Knee-on-belly for Johnson briefly. One minute to go. Borg scrambles to his feet, Johnson puts his back on the cage and slams his noggin to the mat again. Johnson tries to set up an armbar before the bell. 10-9 Johnson.

Round 5: Johnson with another takedown right away. Side control for Johnson. Elbow and punches landing. One minute in. Hard knee to the body. Borg looking for a single-leg, can’t get it. He eats a body kick, looks for the back and again can’t get it. Takedown for Johnson into side control. Full mount for Johnson, then the back. Granby roll from Borg and Johnson blasts him with another knee to the body two minutes in. Johnson just wrangles him back to the mat and lands more knees. Borg gets to his feet, only for Johnson to fling him to the mat and lock up an armbar in mid-air. Johnson cranks viciously and Borg, despite a monstrous effort, taps out.

Round 1: Werdum ducks for a single-leg, gets Harris to the mat, and sets up in half guard. Full mount. Harris tries to scramble, gives up his back, and Werdum transitions to a fight-finishing armbar in the blink of an eye.

125 lbs.: Mara Romero Borella vs. Kalindra Faria

Round 1: Borella hits a takedown within fifteen seconds, landing in half guard. Borella looking to pass, does so into mount. Borella gets her away from the fence and starts landing short blows. She’s not posturing up, just staying tight. Borella briefly pins an arm and lands a right hand. Faria gives up the back. Borella looking for the choke, worms her forearm under Faria’s chin and gets the tap.

Final result: Borella def. Faria by submission (rear naked choke)

155 lbs.: Beneil Dariush vs. Evan Dunham

Round 1: Dariush moving forward, they trade near the fence. 1-2 lands for Dunham. Dariush fires a leg kick and Dunham ties up. Overhand left by Dariush after they separate. 1-2 by Dunham. Dariush finding the mark with his left hand. Check hook and overhand left from Dariush back Dunham off. Dunham ties up after eating a body kick, takes a pair of big elbows that have him looking for a low single. Dariush thumping away as he looks for the back. Dariush riding well, lands a pair of big left hands. Elbow again and Dunham looks for a leg. This is nasty ground-and-pound from Dariush. Dunham trying to stand on the cage. Two minutes to go.

Hard knees to the body from Dariush and a Browne elbows when Dunham tries to scramble up. Another leglock attempt from Dunham easily avoided. Deep half guard from Dunham, elbows from Dariush with a minute to go. Another elbow before Dunham works his way to his feet. 10-8 Dariush, although he looks a bit winded.

Round 2: They come out slugging. Leg kick from Dariush. Dunham grabs a bodylock when Dariush jumps in and scores a takedown into guard. Dariush looking for a gogo/omoplata a minute in. Dunham pulls his arm free and Dariush scrambles up, only for Dunham to grab a rear waistlock. Knee from Dariush as Dunham plugs the body. They separate. Leg kick by Dariush. Two minutes to go.

Another leg kick trips Dunham up. 1-2 lands for Dunham. Dariush with a hard left cross and a leg kick, which Dunham catches for a single-leg attempt. Dariush puts him on the fence. They separate with a minute to go. Leg kick from Dariush, Dunham hauls him to the fence again. 10-9 Dunham.

Round 3: Dunham sending out punches early. Counter right hook lands for Dariush. Big counter left by Dunham when Dariush get a little lazy coming in. One minute in. Vannata releases it when it’s not there, eats lefts from Green inside. Vannata spins out of a single-leg. Right hands from Vannata inside. Leg kick with a minute to go. Good right hand by Botelho as Gonzalez ties up again. Botelho grabs double underhooks and reverses. Gonzalez reverses in turn. One minute to go, Botelho reverses again. Gonzalez reverses and more elbows land. Gonzalez struggling for the takedown, can’t get it. 10-9 Botelho on damage.

Round 2: Front kick from Botelho. Gonzalez shoots and takes her back to the cage. More elbows by Botelho. One minute in. Botelho defending the takedown well thus far. Gonzalez still driving as Botelho swats away with elbows. Two minutes in. Botelho gets an underhook, lands knees. More elbows. Two minutes to go.

Gonzalez just standing there failing to take Botelho down and eating strikes. Ref separates them. Teep from the Brazilian as Gonzalez kicks at her legs. Botelho tries a spinning back kick. Beltran lands a front kick and Schnell responds with a flurry. Schnell with a counter 1-2 after eating a low kick. One minute to go. Both whipping leg kicks at each other. Schnell looks for a left hook in combination, lands a right cross inside. Schnell catches a body kick, lands a left hand before releasing it. 10-9 Schnell.

Round 2: Leg kick from Beltran connects. Low leg kick by Schnell inside. One minute in. Beltran picks at Schnell’s knee, eats a combo. Two minutes in. More kicking by both men. Good counters from Schnell. Beltran with a jumping knee to the body. Two minutes to go.

Round 1: Leg kicks from Moraga open the fight. Bibulatov finally catches one and shoots, can’t keep him down. Hook kick from Bibulatov glances off, right hand lands for Moraga. Big right from Bibulatov in return a minute in. Leg kick connects, this one to the thigh. Overhand right by Moraga, then a MASSIVE left hook flattens “Chaborz.” The second-biggest underdog on the card has pulled a phenomenal upset.

Final result: Moraga def. Bibulatov by KO (punch)

185 lbs.: Thales Leites vs. Brad Tavares

Round 1: Tavares jab, Leites leg kick to start. Leites still targeting the front leg. Leites doing well with his kicks thus far, Tavares lands one in turn. One minute in. Counter right from Leites. 1-2 connects. Fairly even exchanges, favoring Leites as he advances. Left hook rattles Leites as I type that. Tavares on the attack, lands a big right hand when Leites tries to fire back and the Brazilian shoots. He takes Tavares to the fence. Two minutes to go.

Ref separates them when the takedown isn’t there. Low kick from Leites after Tavares lands his jab. Leites shoots once again with a minute ago, gets him to the fence once again. Ref breaks them up once again. They trade big shots and Tavares has Leites retreating with a right hand and follow-up knee. 10-9 Tavares.

Round 2: Back to trading kicks. Good low kick by Tavares, targeting the lower part of the leg. Another hard right by Tavares inside and his jab continues to work. One minute in. Solid leg kicks by Leites during a big of a lull. Two minutes in. Tavares jabs piling up. Leg kick exchange, then Tavares brings it to the body. Leites nearly hits an outside trip, Tavares defends and pops back to his feet. Two minutes to go.

Tavares reverses position and denies and avoids an attempt to pull guard. Leg kick spins Leites around, he answers in kind. One minute to go. They trade leg kicks, Tavares fires a right hand after eating one. 3-2-3 from Leites connects clean. Body kick. 10-9 Tavares.

Round 3: Good exchanges to start the round until Leites takes him to the fence. Tavares reverses a minute in and separates. Counter hook lands for him. Back to trading punches, jabs and right hands from Tavares. Jab knocks Leites’ mouthpiece out and Tavares jumps on him when Leites turns to pick it back up. Tavares hobbles Leites with another leg kick when they resume. Leites still plodding after him, eats a right hand. Another right inside by Tavares and Leites is a bloody mess. First leg kick knockdown of the fight. He drops again not long after. Ninety seconds to go.

Leites first a double-leg, again unsuccessful. Another desperate shot and he tries to pull guard. Tavares standing over him, goes for a flurry before the bell. 10-8 Tavares.
