Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) lightweight champion Conor McGregor may be the biggest star in mixed martial arts (MMA), but he’s not bigger than the sports rivalry between warring football clubs Celtic F.C. and Rangers F.C., who compete in the Scottish Premiership.
I don’t know what any of that mean, being an ignorant American, but there are certain things you don’t do in my neck of the woods, like show up for a Philadelphia Eagles home game and start heckling the crowd while dressed as a Dallas Cowboy.
It seems “Notorious” was out having fun — and hitting the bottle — following his fan Q&A with combat sports fans in Glasgow, Scotland, and tried to lead the crowd in an chant disparaging the Rangers.
And it was all fun and games until McGregor got a drink launched at his head.
Since the video cuts off just after the suds started sailing, there’s no telling what the fallout was, though we should probably make sure it wasn't this guy making waves in McGregor’s absence.
