UFC Fight Night 119 injuries and medical suspensions for those athletes competing at the “Machida vs. Brunson” mixed martial arts (MMA) event last Saturday night (Oct. 28, 2017) from inside Ibirapuera Gymnasium in Sao Paulo, Brazil, were released on Monday by Comissao Atletica Brasileira de MMA (CABMMA).

Leading the list of mandatory timeouts is middleweight headliner Lyoto Machida, who returned from a two-year absence from combat sports only to get creamed by 185-pound stalwart Derek Brunson in the FOX Sports 1 main event.

Every participating fighter was benched for the minimum 14 days; however, select combatants will need additional time off (via MMA Fighting) for damage sustained during their respective performances.

Elizeu Zaleski: Suspended 45 days, 30 days no contact
Hacran Dias: Suspended 45 days, 30 days no contact
Demian Maia: Suspended 45 days, 30 days no contact
Christian Colombo: Suspended 30 days, 21 days no contact
Max Griffin: Suspended 45 days, 30 days no contact
Jared Gordon: Suspended 45 days, 30 days no contact
Niko Price: Suspended 45 days, 30 days no contact
Marlon Vera: Suspended 180 days, pending x-ray of left foot (30/21 if cleared)
Jack Hermansson: Suspended 45 days, 30 days no contact
Colby Covington: Suspended 30 days, 21 days no contact
Lyoto Machida: Suspended 60 days, 45 days no contact

Just a quick reminder: Fighters often return to action much quicker once doctors give them the green light. The lengthy suspensions are just a precaution in most cases. In addition, not all injuries are recorded during the post-fight examination and often times surface in follow-up tests.
