Everything went as planned for UFC newcomer Marcelo Golm earlier tonight (Sat., Oct. 28, 2017) at UFC Fight Night 119 live on Fight Pass from inside Ginasio do Ibirapuera in Sao Paulo, Brazil, as the undefeated heavyweight put an absolute beating on veteran Christian Colombo.
Making his UFC debut in front of his home crowd, Golm wasted little time in taking it to Colombo. The 25-year-old prospect delivered countless combinations along the cage before taking the Danish heavyweight to the ground, peppering him with heavy ground-and-pound, and swiftly working for the rear-naked choke finish. Once the submission was locked in, Colombo quickly tapped.

With this performance, Golm enters a UFC heavyweight division desperately in search of young blood. While Colombo isn’t the biggest name in the weight class, he was a huge step up in competition for Golm compared to the guys he’s been beating on the Brazilian open circuit. If his evolution treats him nice, Golm could be a rising contender to watch in 2018.
