Michael Bisping calls assault lawsuit against him ‘total bollocks’

If Michael Bisping is concerned about an assault and battery lawsuit launched at him over the past few days, he isn't showing it.

“Total bollocks,” Bisping said when asked about the issue at a UFC 217 media luncheon (via MMA Fighting). “There’s your comment.”

According to the lawsuit filed on October 23rd, Bisping choked 19 year old Antonio Georgakopolous at a 24 Hour Fitness in Anaheim on July 31st. The incident allegedly happened after Georgakopolous took Bisping's weights.

“I haven’t even been served with papers,” Bisping revealed. “They’re suing the UFC, they’re suing 24-Hour Fitness, they’re suing William Morris Endeavor, they’re suing Michael Bisping. So good luck with that. It’s completely infactual. From what I’ve read about it so far, there’s many, many contradictions. Obviously, it’s a lawsuit, so I don’t want to say too much, but I can just say I’m not losing too much sleep and it’s not correct.”

“It happened months ago. It seems very, very tactical. ‘Oh, let’s bring it out a week before the biggest fight of his life.’ Bring some attention to it, perhaps. Look for a settlement. I’m already saying too much. Good job.”

Bisping was never arrested over the incident, and the Anaheim City Attorney's Office determined there was insufficient evidence to file a criminal case. Bisping seems pretty confident he's going to come out on top here, just as he does regarding his UFC 217 fight against Georges St-Pierre on November 4th.
