Anyone who’s ever spent any time in the gym knows all too well how frustrating it can be trying to share equipment with the rest of the paying members, especially when they encroach on weights or machines that are still in use.
I guess Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) middleweight champion Michael Bisping had all he could stand (and couldn’t stand no more) at 24 Hour Fitness in Anaheim, Calif., grabbing a gym rat by the throat and nearly choking him unconscious back in July.
That’s according to a report from TMZ:
According to the suit, Bisping went crazy on Antonio Georgakopoulos for "taking his weights" without asking during a workout.
Antonio claims Bisping called him all sorts of names including a "little punk" and an "idiot." Antonio claims he was about to lose consciousness when another weight lifter intervened and broke it up.
Antonio says he's had to see doctors for his injuries and now suffers from nightmares and anxiety as a result of the alleged attack. He's suing for assault, battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress and more.
The cops were called, but no charges were filed due to insufficient evidence.
Bisping has a more important fight to worry about next month in New York City. That’s where “The Count” will lock horns with former UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre in the UFC 217 pay-per-view (PPV) main event.
