Episode 3 is here, and our audio travails continue, yet we press on. Today we have part one of a fantastic interview with American Top Team’s strength and conditioning coach, Phil Daru (skip to the 57:00 mark for that) as well as a special guest, MMA Mania’s own analyst Andrew Richardson.

Phil Daru, @DaruStrong on Twitter (and most social media platforms) gets into strength training for MMA, how to lift weights without limiting mobility, how and when he centers a fighter’s conditioning around a fight camp. He tells the secret of Joanna Jedrzejczyk’s endless gas tank, the problems weight cutting causes, and the feasibility of limiting or abolishing the practice in the sport. Next week he will give his thoughts on the secret behind Conor McGregor’s cardio problems, and the high-level cognitive conditioning drills he does with Dustin Poirier. Stay tuned for that!

Andrew Richardson, @AndyLRichardson on Twitter, breaks down Andre Fili, Darren Till, and Karolina Kowalkiewicz’s wins this weekend, and looks forward to a couple of next weekend’s compelling fights, Demian Maia-Colby Covington and Derek Brunson-Lyoto Machida. He also broke down his own amateur title win in California, and why he is expecting easy fights as he turns professional. He will be back before UFC 217 to give his unique Team Alpha Male insight on Garbrandt-Dillashaw, probably in a fight week bonus episode.
