UFC Fight Night 118 medical suspensions: Cowboy Cerrone sat six months for busted beak

MMA: UFC Fight Night-Gdansk-Cerrone vs Till Per Haljestam-USA TODAY Sports

UFC Fight Night 118 injuries and medical suspensions for those athletes competing at the “Cerrone vs. Till” mixed martial arts (MMA) event on UFC Fight Pass last Saturday (Oct. 21, 2017) from inside Ergo Arena in Gdansk, Poland, were released on Monday by the promotion, which serves as its own regulatory body overseas.

All fighters received mandatory seven-day suspensions for precautionary reasons.

A handful of fighters, however, drew extended sentences as a result of injuries sustained during their respective battles. Chief among them was welterweight warrior Donald Cerrone, who could get up to six months off after Darren Till caved his face in.

See it again here.

Joining “Cowboy” in the six-month club are Jan Blachowicz and Sam Alvey, who both had some problems with their right knees. Devin Clark, meanwhile, could find himself gone for 180 days due to elbow issues.

The full list of UFC Fight Night 116 medical suspensions, courtesy of mixedmartialarts.com, are as follows:

Just a quick reminder: Fighters often return to action much quicker once doctors give them the green light. The lengthy suspensions are just a precaution in most cases. In addition, not all injuries are recorded during the post-fight examination and often times surface in follow-up tests.
