Gritty light heavyweight veteran Jan Blachowicz may have gotten off to a slow start earlier today (Sat., Oct. 21, 2017) at UFC Fight Night 118 live on Fight Pass from inside Ergo Arena in Gdansk, Poland, but the 34-year-old ultimately turned it around on young counterpart Devin Clark.
After a back-and-forth first round that favored Clark’s inside pressure, Blachowicz caught the Greg Jackson protege off guard in Round 2 during a scramble along the cage and grabbed a hold of Clark’s neck. Blachowicz quickly started to squeeze as Clark remained standing and tried to fight the choke off. Unfortunately for “Brown Bear,” Blachowicz held on tight until Clark tapped and referee jumped in for the second-round rear-naked choke stoppage.

With this performance, Blachowicz gets back into the 205-pound win column after dropping his last two Octagon appearances to Alexander Gustafsson and Patrick Cummins. With a depleted division in front of him, the 34-year-old Polish finisher could quickly climb the light heavyweight ladder with more outings like this one.
